That said, the iPhone as it stands is a nearly perfect device. .
A 'perfect' devices with a bad antenna design? Sorry, but I wouldn't touch the iPhone 4 because of its antenna design flaws and won't get an iPhone until Apple corrects that. Hardly perfect. Perfect for YOU maybe..

Copy it to a USB drive or disc. Why would you keep downloading it?
what makes you think that you can copy it to a USB drive or disc? I have disc for Tiger, Leopard, and Snow Leopard. None of those disc can be copied, some of them can only be used on their original machine (or the exact model). the past 3 OSes can't be copied, and so far there's nothing to suggest we can just make backup copies of Lion.

NEWS:
November 23, 2006 CNN
NEW YORK (AP) -- Cell phone owners will be allowed to break software locks on their handsets in order to use them with competing carriers under new copyright rules announced Wednesday.
Given the above news, NO cellphone company may soon be subsidizing ANY phones.
Well, it's a totally separate subject that's off-topic for this thread, but I would like to quote one single sentence from the related CNN news article.
The new rules will take effect Monday and expire in three years.
So, here's my question: If these rights are so important and have been recognized as being so important, then why would they want to deliberately sunset those same laws? Something here doesn't smell right.

Yes, because the uninitiated that claim this is ambiguous keep popping up. Oh wait...
If you read it as anything other than a division, you need to go back to school.
Only for those with a lack of understanding of basic math. Again, the problem is not the equation per say, it's the people that don't understand mathematics.

The idea of 20 GB per year for $.99 or less for an album just can't be beat.
It is practically FREE for us when Amazon does their $2 music giftcard promo every year since some entire albums can cost less than $2. If you use Swagbucks, redeem $5 Amazon cards at 450 SB and the balance never expires like it does with the Amazon $2 promo.
Amazon + Swagbucks kick ass together! FREE music and cloud storage.

This may be a dumb question, but why would apple just use the new chips in mbp's and not the mb? Dosn't seem to make sense. As soon as core 2 merom comes out every pc notebook will have it. Price wouldn't be an issue cause merom is same price as yonah, correct? The MBP is a PRO model. They can keep Yonah (Which is fast enough mind you) and still speed bump it/lower the price some more.
I don't think we'll see these at WWDC unless there are other substantial changes. Going from a Yonah to a Merom chip may be great news, but it's hardly something Steve can crow about on stage. "Here's the new macbook pro... it looks and functions exactly like the old one, but 20% faster. Um, yeah. You already know all about the macbook pro, so there's really nothing else for me to say, is there?"
I expect we will see mac pros and leopard demo'ed at WWDC, plus the usual talk about how well apple is doing, etc. Maybe some talk about pro apps because it's a developer's conference. MAYBE a new ipod (nano) just because it's such big news, even tho it's not really for developers.
But as far as new MBPs go, I'd expect a quiet announcement some tuesday in the relatively near future. So new iMacs next Tuesday?
I do agree that the new Pro towers need a much more proper launch while the other lines can just get a shiny new Core 2 Duo logo on their site and an update to Apple's Intel page.

Hilarious that companies are copying Apple rumors now.
Arn, we need an article that Apple is developing a space ship!
Jeff Bezos (Amazon CEO) already has a company devoted to space research.

Here we go again...
Hint: Intel is your winner, AAPL. Understand that.
Edit: for you young'ins, this a panel of IBM G5 processors. Specifically designed for Apple. The processor partnership was supposed to be groundbreaking.
Soon after, Apple went begging to Intel and, well, what's the processor brand in the Mac you are reading this on?

Hm, I just bought the macbook pro with the intel core duo (1) ... will it be able to run the new lepord or will the speed be hampered?
haha you'll be FINE trust me. you bought a very high end laptop and it will happily run leopard. when apple introduces leopard it will want to get as many people as possible to use it, alienating owners of a macbook pro they bought a little over a year ago is not a path they will take.

Wrong.
Ok then you do not know how to follow the order of operations....ie if you want 2, you have to have another set of parenthesis (so you evaluate 2(9+3) before dividing into 48) or mistakenly think that multiplication somehow supersedes the use of division (which it does not and you then proceed from left to right)

Just preferred?
That only means an Option right? Still going to be DVD/USB Stick?
Because if it was App Store only, what about people with Leopard or earlier?
The article's not that long of a read.

Splain please.
initially, the way it was written it seemed (to me at least) that an armed trap would be triggered by our presence in the room at the end of a round
in that case you don't want to end a round with a move to a new room because you expose yourself to the trap without being able to check for it. (so move-explore >> explore-move)
Also it implied you could 'run' through a room in turn1 of a round without triggering the trap in that room (move-move).
it was then explained that an armed trap is triggered only by leaving the room, at any turn
this means that we can go into a new room and end our turn, and it is safe as long as someone explores the room before leaving next turn (so move-explore ≅ explore-move)
that's why splitting can be productive:
say me and you are in room A, unexplored, as a group.
we split and in your turn1 you explore the room, in my turn1 i move to room B.
then in your turn2 you move to roomB and in my turn2 i explore roomB.
then we merge again.
in this way we have both moved from room A to room B, and we have explored both rooms, while if we moved as a group we could only explore one of the two rooms.
the downside is that if we find treasure, it only applies to the discoverer's party and not to everyone.

Hmm, interesting. I'm not eligible since I didn't play in Intell's last game, but this looks like fun.
No, you mis-read, I meant you must have played in at least three games. Intell's last game is counted if you played in that one. I edited the part to hopefully make it more clear. When I wrote it, Intell's game wasn't over.
You've played in *way* more than three games, so you're in if you want.

Ant there you have it folks! A new rumor theme that will last forever or until Apple changes architecture... lol
I do think that the battery would be the most to benefit from this but I don't think that it will happen any day soon. Even 13 is soon... But there might be one "new" product with it.. Maybe just one Macbook Air or something...

What happens if I'm listening to a song with my headphones and a call comes in. Will it pause the song and allow me to answer the call? Will I be able to use the headphones for the call? Will they build a microphone into that I don't have to hold the thing up to my head like some cell's speaker phones do?
It seems reasonable to assume that the cell phone will pause your music, and you will be able to talk into a mic on the headset. Additionally, there would probably be a button on the headset so you can answer and hang up a call (and adjust volume/tracks) without taking the phone out of your pocket. My ancient Samsung Uproar (http://www.samsungtelecom.com/uproar/index.html) had all those capabilities (and a whopping 64 MB RAM!) more than 5 years ago.
(I actually really liked that phone...I only stopped using it because I had to switch from Sprint due to unbearable lack of reception.)

I would be curious to know what 'maintaining a good relationship with Apple' means in this case. Is it similar to PC OEMs like Dell and HP agreeing to not sell PCs with Linux to 'maintain their good relationship with Microsoft'? I own a Scion that came with an iPod compatible stereo as an option. I wonder if they are licensees of the made for iPod program.
To those saying scions aren't good cars, shush. That box model isn't the only one they make. :P

Call me naive (or perhaps paranoid) but I've been assuming my location is being tracked since I bought my first smart phone years ago.
I never understand these things.
It's like asking a burger "did you steal anything?"
The answer will either be silence or it will be no.
Even if Apple were using and collecting tracking locations to build up databases of customer movements, they are not going to shout "YES WE ARE TRACKING PEOPLE"
It's just a silly question to ask, what do you think they will say?
If Apple want to be seen to be squeaky they have a simple answer, put a setting in the iDevices options to turn off location tracking/storage.
Simple.
Pretty much sums it up. I knew these companies would be gathering information for advertising or marketing purposes long ago. I dont care what snarky answer SJ provides, I will assume they are collecting the data and move on with my life. Apple and Google are both for profit corporations so I Im not foolish enough to think one is more honorable than the other.
